Present for the Planning Meeting (May 19, 2001) were:

  Doris J. Newton Pope, Wilbur Pope, Shirley McGinnis Sliwinski, Bill Wood, Nila Allen Bailey, Sally Baber Beam, Lane Bond and wife Janice (53), Bud Whitney (Elaine joined us for dinner), Bob and Jackie Simpson, Barbara Smith Medford and husband Jim Medford, Leonard Hartley  (Claudette joined us for dinner).  This was a no-host dinner attended by all who were still in town by then, totaling ten, at the Brandin’ Iron Restaurant.

Memorial:   Nila is getting Obituaries for all of the deceased when possible.

Float: 
Bob Simpson made arrangements with Jack Cathey for a truck a couple of weeks before he died. We especially give credit to Cathey Construction Company, 2727 E. 25th Street for furnishing us with a truck for our parade. Jack is a graduate of Coahoma High School, and his wife is Katie Lou Jones Cathey, our energetic cheerleader of the BSHS Class of 1949. They have generously provided trucks for this purpose for many years, regardless of whose class is meeting on any given year. They are also furnishing their own driver at their own expense, and have refused payment.
